Windows 10: Cannot Change Pin - Windows Hello PIN Recovery failed to change the user's PIN.

I have an account since a long time but when I want to log in on my second machine int the Microsoft Store need to enter my Pin. Whenever I do it it keeps telling me it is wrong. In order to buy my son on his machine a game I needed for some reason a secondary email which I did need to make primary to buy an application from the Store. Now I have switched back my "old" account as primary but I still cannot log on to the Store with my account, because it wants to set up Windows Hello which is stuck in a death spiral. I have tried to change the pin which works locally, but for some reason it doe

I suggest you to go through the below steps and check if it helps.

Follow these steps to set up a PIN on your Windows User Account:

• 
  Press the Windows +S key combination to display the Search box.
  
• 
  Type the word pin into the Search box, then click
  Set up PIN sign-in.
  
• 
  Find the “PIN” section and click the Add button.
  
• 
  Type in the password for your User Account, then click the
  Ok button.
  
• 
  Select and enter a 4 digit numeric pin, then enter it again for confirmation.
  
• 
  Exit the PIN setup utility.
  

From now on you’ll be able to log in to your Windows account by entering your 4 digit PIN instead of your password.



You can change your PIN at any time by following the steps below:

• 
  Press the Windows +S key combination to display the Search box.
  
• 
  Type the word pin into the Search box, then click Set up PIN sign-in.
  
• 
  Find the “PIN” section and click the Change button.
  
• 
  Enter your Windows password, then click the
  Ok button.

• Which build version of Windows is your PC running on?

In the meantime, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how to set up PIN.

• Open Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Click Sign-in options.
• Click the Add button for the PIN and set your PIN.
• Do the same for the Windows Hello.

You may follow this steps to change your PIN:

1. Open Settings (keyboard shortcut: Windows + I) > Accounts > Sign-in options

2. Tap or click the Change button under PIN

3. Enter your current PIN, then enter and confirm the new PIN underneath

If you wish to reset your PIN, try this steps:

1. Open Settings (keyboard shortcut: Windows + I) > Accounts > Sign-in options

2. Tap or click I forgot my PIN.

3. You'll get a warning that you'll need to log in from scratch to access games, social networking, and more. Tap or click Continue.

4. Enter your Microsoft account password and then set up the new Pin.
