Windows 10: Cannot access win10 account after power outage

Hi,today I was working with my laptot which has windows 10 as OS. Everything was fine, until I accidentally hit my power cord and disconnected it from the laptop, leaving the laptop without power since its battery is exhausted.When I reconnected the power cord and turned the laptop on again it started on a new background instead of entering my personal user. It appeared to be like a default admin user account.Initailly, after logging in, I found a message saying that in order to not to loose any data or something similar I had to close the current session and log in again. There are few factors that can contribute to the issue you are encountering. Power outages can result in data loss, corruption of folders/files, and programs not functioning.

• Which browser are you using to check the passwords and favorites section? Provide the list of browsers where you encountered the concern.
• Have you tried using another account to verify if the programs are still missing on your program list?

There is a possibility that the drive index has been corrupted. We highly suggest that you check your hard drive and scan for errors by following these steps:

• Open This PC on File Explorer and locate your hard drive.
• Right-click and choose Properties.
• Under Tools tab, click on Check Now button.

After scanning the hard drive, hidden files and folders, as well as lost data can be restored.

Hi there, I just had a power outage and i'm worried that my windows installation will be damaged. I have an SSD. Should there be any steps I should do now? What should I check?

 

Settings can't be opened using the built-in administrator account

Unfortunately I have the same issue as Dabz from upgrading win7 to win10.
I've tried opening settings using all the suggested methods and it will not load using my account with Administrator access nor the built-in Administrator profile. I also tried other methods not listed such as using Run. Control panel is just a stepping stone to add users in Settings.
I'm also having explorer.exe issues, which I believe is preventing Settings from loading.
Using cmd (Admin) I successfully created a new user profile [and granted admin access also using cmd (Admin)], however win10 will not allow this account to log on. win10 does not list this new user within control panel but it does in the start menu. win10 will not allow to log in or switch to the new account via the start menu either.
I can access settings in Safe Mode but this will not allow me to create a new account.
Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
