    I understand your concern. Let me help you to fix the issue.



    To understand the issue better please provide us more information.


    • What is the model number of the computer?

    • Which game are you trying to play?
    • Try playing other games and check what the status is.
    Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below methods.

    Method 1

    I recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the display driver and check. Follow the below steps:


    • Press Windows key + X and click on
      Device manager
      .

    • Locate for display adapter and click on it to expand.

    • Right click on the device and click on
      uninstall
      .

    • Once you are done uninstalling the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic display driver.
    If this doesn’t help to fix the issue. I suggest you to update the display driver. Skip step3 from the above steps and right click on the
    device and click on update.

    Method 2.

    If the above method did not help to fix the issue, I would suggest you to
    go to the computer manufacturer website and download the latest display adapter driver. Visit the below link:

    Method 3.

    For the sound issue try the below steps.

    Step 1.

    I suggest you to uninstall/reinstall the sound adapter driver and check.


    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Device manager
      .

    • Now click on Sound, video and game controllers
      to expand, right click on the device and click on uninstall.

    • Once you are done installing the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the sound adapter driver.
    If the issue still persist, try the below steps.

    Step 2.

    I suggest you to update the audio driver and check.


    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Device manager
      .
    • Now click on Sound, video and game controllers and right click on it and
      update the software.

    We understand your concern as you are unable to install the Windows update.
    In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    • What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • What is the make and model of the PC?
    • What is the error you are getting after the installation fails?
    • What is the KB number that is failing to install?


    Meanwhile, we would suggest you to follow these steps and troubleshoot on Windows updates.

    1. Press Windows Key and type CMD then right click on CMD and select
      Run as Administrator from the menu.
    2. Stop the BITS, Cryptographic,
      Windows Installer
      and the Windows Update Services. Type the following commands at a command prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after each command.
      • net stop wuauserv
      • net stop cryptSvc
      • net stop bits
      • net stop msiserver
    3. Now rename the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folder. You can do this by typing the following commands in the Command Prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after each command.
      • ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
      • ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
    4. Restart the PC and then restart the BITS, Cryptographic,
      Windows Installer and Windows Update Services. Type the following commands in the Command Prompt for this. Press the
      ENTER key after you type each command.
      • net start wuauserv
      • net start cryptSvc
      • net start bits
      • net start msiserver
    5. Type Exit in the Command Prompt to close it.

    6. Then check for Windows updates

    This issue might occur if some system files is corrupt.



    To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

    • When you say that "Game freezes or comp reboots in", is the freezing issue occurring while playing game or in other situations also?
    • Is the issue particular to a game or with all the games?
    • Are you getting any error message?
    • Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

    I suggest you to follow the steps below to run System File Checker on the computer and also try to reinstall the game in compatibility mode.



    Step 1: I suggest you to perform a System File Checker of the Computer and check if it helps.

    System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

    1. Right click on Start Menu.

    2. Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

    3. Then type ”sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit on
    Enter Key.

    Step 2: I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall the game in compatibility mode. Check if it helps.

    1. Right-click on the game setup file and click on ‘Properties’'.

    2. Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 7, 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the
    computer and check if the issue persists.
