Hey there, I have a problem in my PC , which is whenever I turn on my PC this system.exe and system interrupts takes almost 30 to 40% of my cpu, due to which my PC lags a lot.

  2. System Interrupts using 30 - 100% CPU

Hi Bradley. I'm Greg, an Independent Advisor here to help until this is resolved.

    1) See fixes for System Interrupts causing high CPU usage:

    https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/fix-high-cpu-usag...

    https://blog.pcrisk.com/windows/12795-system-in...

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/system-interrupt... (Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Reimage ad)

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

    2) Update your drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed
in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button. Make sure you have the latest Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

Then type System Information in Start Search, compare the latest BIOS/UEFI firmware version with the one showing in System Information, and install it following closely the instructions on the download page, and on any Read Me file included in download.

Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer's drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page.

    3) Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 17 to test a new Local Admin account. Then if necessary
continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

    4) If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, is the most stable method to advance to the latest version,
    and solves most problems.

I hope this helps. Based on the results you report back I may have other suggestions if necessary. If you will wait to choose whether the problem is resolved, then I will continue to help until the problem is fixed.

  3. System interrupts

Starting about yesterday System interrupts has been hogging all of my cpu power. Restarting my computer does not fix the issue. System interrupts only begins to use excessive cpu power when i connect to Wi-Fi. If i restart my computer and i do not connect
to Wi-Fi then it works normally but the moment i connect System interrupts will begin to use 15-30% cpu power and stays that way even if i disconnect from the Wi-fi until i restart my computer again.

Does any one have a fix for this?

    System Interrupts

So I have a Asus VivoBook x541u with the following specs(initial) specs:

    • Intel core i7-7500u 2.7 Ghz (boosted to 3.5 Ghz)
    • 1 TB HDD
    • 6 GB DDR4 RAM
    • Nvidia Geforce GT 920 MX 2 GB
    • Windows 10 64 bit Home Edition

Recently I have upgraded my ram from 6 GB to 12 GB and removed the optical drive in favor of an extra bootable SSD 500 GB Western Digital Drive. However, ever since the format I did my CPU runs at 30% all the time with System Interrupts. I have tried everything
since then. From checking the ram, to checking the ssd, the cpu, the drives, all the settings, everything but to no result. I also tried reinstalling windows but again no result its driving me crazy.

Memtest says I am fine, SSD bad sector tests says I am fine, driver scans say I am fine but still the system interrupt runs at 30% changing only if a much heavier application starts running, which by then runs at about 10 %- 15%. After googling I searched
all the common fixes but no result after trying them. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
