Windows 10: Can I transfer my Win 11 Pro licence to a new PC?

At the moment I'm using Win11 Pro on my Intel based motherboard.I initially had Win 7 Ultimate that was upgraded for free from Microsoft to Win 10 and now Win11.I want to build a new PC and wondered if I could transfer my present licence from the old pc to the new build. I do have a Microsoft account with this PC registered.Some folk tell me that it's not in the terms of the original upgrade agreement to transfer the licence to a new build.My licence details shows my copy as being RETAIL Channel.

Transferring a retail Windows 11 Pro licence to a new PC

I have an old PC running Windows 11 Pro, "activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account". This is a retail licence purchased from the Microsoft Store.



This old PC is now suffering from various hardware problems, so I have bought a new one. This has been running Windows 11 Home under an OEM licence, also "activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account".

My question is, how do I deactivate the Windows 11 Pro licence on the old PC and activate it on the new PC? I know this is an obvious question, and after some searching I found one answer I thought addressed my particular issue.

I followed the steps set out in Redirecting but now I'm stuck. The troubleshooter on the new PC says "we found a Windows Home digital licence for this device running Windows 11 Pro. To activate using this digital licence, you need to install Windows 11 Home". At the final step, "See other devices linked to your Microsoft account" only shows the old PC, with the Windows 11 Pro licence. I am signed on to the same Microsoft account on both PCs and can see them both in "Devices".

I'm not worried about the licensing on the old PC, as it's going to be recycled anyway.

 

Transfer Win 10 Pro Licence to a new Win 10 Home PC

I bought a Laptop with Win 7 in July 2012.

In January, 2013, I bought a Win 8 Pro licence through the promotion that was running at the time.

I have since update the original Win 7 PC, to Win 8 Pro, to Win 10 Pro and it now is running Win 10 update 1903.

I bought a new laptop with Win 10 Home this week. I will be retiring the original Laptop purchased in 2012.

Can I transfer my Win 10 Pro licence on the retired laptop to the new Laptop ?

I am getting mixed answers from the Sales people.

 

Transfer Win 11 Pro from old to new mac book pro

I have Windows 11 Pro on my old mac book pro. I want to transfer this licence on new mac book pro. I have licence key (7JPVY-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-7T9TT ). I don't want to use windows on my old mac book pro. How I can transfer my Win 11 Pro licence to new mac book?
