Create Win 10 repair drive on USB hard drive?

On my new Win10 laptop with separate OS and Data drives, I want to create recovery / repair on a (FAT32?) hard drive partition rather than on a USB stick, and then store individual PC OS images in NTFS partitions on the same hard drive.

I have created a FAT32 32GB partition and 4 NTFS partitions on a 2TB USB HD, but am struggling to find which tools to use. I seem to be presented with presented with both Win10 and Win 7 windows and can only see how to create a OS ISO in Win 7 and the Win
10 Recovery Media Creator does not let me just store the OS drive

Help would be much appreciated on how to do this using the very latest Win 10 build

 

Creating Recover Drive for Win 10

After Windows 10 Free upgrade completes can I create a recovery on a USB flash drive . What size does the drive need to be? I have PC;s with Win7 Pro x64 and x32 and a tablet with 2gig of ram Win 8.1 32 bit which has only 32 gig drive in it.


10 gig of it is used as a recover and currently only 11 gig of free space on the drive. All helpful comments/suggestions

Cannot create a recovery drive for win 10

After a scare this morning, I tried to create a recovery drive from a USB but my pc will not allow me to create it. I follow the online instructions but after writing "create recovery drive" on the search tab, my pc shows the "Create Recovery drive" option
but I cannot click on it or it does not do anything. The same thing happens when I try to use the command prompt. Nothing.

My pc did upgrade from an older win 7 version last year.

Any suggestions?
