Windows 10: Can i charge my computer Hp envy without its origional charger and instead use USB-C

I want to charge my computer because I lost my origional charger. I just want to know If i can charge it with USB-C and not damage my computer,

usb c cannot charge computer but can reverse charge

I am having a problem with my Lenovo computer, where I can use the usb-c port to charge devices, but the charger will not charge the computer. I tried rebooting my computer, unplugging my cords, doing microsoft's page regarding this problem, but I believe the problem lies within the computer. The chargers can charge other computers just fine, but it's just my computer. I usually have a usb-c dock connected to the usb-c port with a charger going through the usb-c dock. Would that be the cause of this problem?

HP Envy Laptop Battery not charging after Windows 10 installation

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

I suggest you to un-install and re-install battery drivers from Device manager and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Device Manager.
• Expand Batteries and right click on Batteries ACPI and click on Un-install.
• Restart the computer and check.

If the issue persist, I suggest you to visit HP Envy website and check whether HP has released any firmware updates for Windows 10. If so, please go ahead and install them and check with the issue.
