Windows 10: brother mfc - j6920DW not printing portrait.

I have a brother mfc - j6920DW refuses to print portrait. Quite literally ever setting has been changed to print portrait, on the printer, in the "printer preferences". Yet I still get landscape, like, I have been studying I.T. for a year, if I can solve it, then how could someone with no experience possibly hope to achieve anything with this printer? This printer is so poorly designed, It was given to me for free and feel like I wasted my money.

Brother MFC-J6920DW does not print with Windows 10

We installed Windows 10 from a one year old Toshiba Satellite P-75 laptop a week ago. Up until then we were printing wireless to our one year old Brother MFC-J6920DW printer. We also print via USB from another, older HP desktop. After the Windows 10 "upgrade"
the Brother printer will not print.

However, the printer and laptop seem to recognize one-another. The status monitor does send ink quantity to the laptop. The OCR and image scanning seems to work fine. When trying to print from MS Office applications I am getting an error message that
setup is not correct. When trying to print from web applications (email, web pages, etc.) it does nothing. I have also tried USB as well as wireless options with the same results.

I looked at the Brother support page and downloaded latest drivers (more than once). I also asked for latest drivers from the Device Manager and was told I do have the latest drivers. I also spent about one hour on the phone with a pretty responsive Brother
tech support guy. I believe we tried everything in his book of tricks without success. He did note that new drivers would be available in October that "would fix" the problem. At that point he also said I should try Microsoft. This is first attempt before
I request a call or live dialogue.

Anyone else have similar issues - hopefully with fix?

 

Brother Laser Thinks it's a Brother InkJet

For some odd reason, when I send a print job to my Brother Laser MFC-2710DW, instead the document goes to my Brother MFC-J6920DW Inkjet printer.

I know I can reinstall it, but printer installation on Windows 10 is a chore and a half! Besides, I want to know why this has happened.

Anyone got any ideas?

 

Brother MFC J6720DW listed with strange icon in Devices and Printers

I have reinstalled the drivers for my Brother MFC J6720DW and now the printer icon is listed in the unspecified category instead of the printer category. The printer is the "Device" icon to the right.





Right clicking on the icon shows the usual items for a printer (printing properties etc.), In addition it shows a "Browse Files" entry that lists the card reader of the printer.





To the left of the Brother printer icon there is another similar one that seems to be my USB card reader
