Hello, I have a slight problem that I'd like to have solved before the 13/14th. In doing a clean installation of Windows, it appears that a HDD in the system took Windows whilst a M.2 SSD got the boot partition. As we all know a HDD vs a M.2 is like a cyclist vs a Ferrari, so I'd like to move the boot partition over to the HDD then migrate it all over to the SSD unless there is a way to move all my files on the HDD over to the SSD without having to start over: without losing all the HDD data, I've watched and read multiple videos and posts, I found this helpful video on fixing the boot parti

Migrating Window 10 OS to a partition drive.

Hello there, I was wondering if it's possible to migrate the OS from C drive to D drive without the need to reformat the computer?

If can't, is it possible to only move other files and program to other partition but leaving only the OS in the C drive?

Migrate the OS to a USB drive and use it for a boot device

    Hello,

I've got an Dell Inspiron 3000 series laptop. It has a 32 gb SSD drive and that's it. It doesn't have the capability to expand/add a hard drive. I bought initially just to do light Office work on the road and didn't think the drive size would be an issue
since I would be using the cloud for storage. Then came the updates to the OS. It's almost unusable now. I wanted to migrate the OS to a larger thumb drive or external drive and boot the OS from there. Is that possible and if so, how do I do it?

    Dell Inspiron model 14-3452

    32GB SSD

    2GB RAM

    OS - Windows 10 Home

    Thanks,

    RBC

Current working boot drive is not the OS Drive. How to change it to the OS Drive

I had my Windows XP installed in a 250GB HDD and at one point, bought a second HDD of 500GB to get more space. At one point, I decided to reinstall the OS on the 500GB drive, thinking I might get rid of this 250GB drive or actually not wait for it to die
before switching HDD. The problem is the boot drive (now G: and E: partitions) has to be there for the computer to boot even though the OS was reinstalled on the 500GB HDD.

It has been about 10 years since I've done that and my OS has changed from XP to Windows 7 to 8, 8.1 and now 10. I never found the solution, but it is working as long as I have this smaller HDD.

I'd like to know how do I change the main boot drive to my os drive?

    Thanks!
