  1. Bluetooth not connecting after using adapter

My Bluetooth kept disconnecting so I decided to try using a USB Bluetooth adapter. When I installed it and its drivers I disabled the original Generic Bluetooth Adapter in device manager and restarted my PC. After doing this I couldn't connect to Bluetooth devices and it would just instantly say "Couldn't connect." and when looking in Bluetooth & devices in settings it said driver error. After this I uninstalled the driver for the adapter and removed it then enabled the origin Generic Bluetooth Adapter and restarted my PC again. The issue of not being able to connect is still happening aft

Bluetooth keyboard connected but goes into "paired" state after 10-20 seconds

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Your issue with the Bluetooth keyboard disconnecting and reverting to a "paired" state shortly after connection may involve a variety of factors, including Bluetooth profile conflicts, power management settings, or even interference issues. Here are several steps and suggestions to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Check Power Management Settings for the Bluetooth Adapter:
      • In the Device Manager, find your Bluetooth adapter under the "Bluetooth" category.
      • Right-click on the adapter and select "Properties," then go to the "Power Management" tab.
      • Make sure that the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked. This ensures that Windows doesn't power off the adapter to save energy, which could be causing the disconnection.
    2. Check for Interference:
      • Bluetooth operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency, which is shared with many other devices, including Wi-Fi routers. Try moving your Bluetooth adapter away from other electronic devices or USB 3.0 ports, as these can cause interference. Using a USB extension cable can help reduce interference.
    3. Prioritize Bluetooth Devices:
      • Since connecting Bluetooth headphones first seems to alleviate the problem, it's possible that there's a prioritization issue. While Windows doesn't offer a straightforward way to set priority for Bluetooth devices, keeping the keyboard connected and then connecting the headphones might help maintain the connection.
    4. Disable Bluetooth Power Saving on Connected Devices:
      • Go to "Devices and Printers" from the Control Panel.
      • Right-click on your connected Bluetooth keyboard and select "Properties."
      • If there's a "Bluetooth" tab, check if there's an option to disable power saving for the device.
    5. Adjust Bluetooth Service Settings:
      • Type services.msc in the Start menu search and press Enter.
      • Locate the "Bluetooth Support Service" and double-click it to open its properties.
      • Set the Startup type to "Automatic" and then stop and start the service again.
    6. Check for System and Driver Conflicts:
      • Ensure that there are no other devices causing conflicts. This can sometimes be identified through the Device Manager where devices with conflicts will have a yellow exclamation mark.
    7. Test with Another PC or Bluetooth Device:
      • If possible, test your Bluetooth keyboard with another computer or a different Bluetooth adapter to rule out hardware issues with the keyboard itself or compatibility issues with the adapter.
    8. Consider a Bluetooth Adapter with a Different Chipset:
      • If none of the above steps work, it might be worth trying a different Bluetooth adapter, preferably one with a different chipset, as certain chipsets may have better compatibility with a wider range of devices.
If after trying these steps the problem persists, it could be indicative of a deeper compatibility issue between the Bluetooth keyboard and your specific Bluetooth adapter or Windows version. In such cases, reaching out to the manufacturer's support for your keyboard or Bluetooth adapter may provide additional insights or solutions specific to your hardware.

Let me know if you need further assistance.
