Black screen after HP loading screen longer than usual, few days after repair install

So my laptop i'm pretty sure thousands of others do as well has that black screen that briefly happens after the HP loading screen vanishes and then the windows login screen appears. However sometime after a repair install that happened on the 24th, that screen has been lasting a bit longer than usual, previously it lasted from about 6-10 seconds, now it's taken long as 13-16 seconds.I've not installed or done any changes to the system, only thing I've done is updated roblox from it's official source. Is this normal? I've had this laptop since late 2021, just a normal sign of the laptop aging

    :)

  2. What caused black screen after XP loading screen?

Well, the black screen is back. I did a repair install of XP and got everything running again, now after restarting while trying to to reinstall my mobo drivers, it trys to load windows, then the black screen again. This is so annoying i am about to toss the damn thing through the wall. *Bang Head :banghead: *Bang Head :banghead:

  3. Boot Usually Fails with Black Screen

Windows 10 Pro, [Version 10.0.19043.1288], sfc and dism system checks OK. I rarely reboot my machine, a habit from years of making long runs lasting many weeks or even months. When a WU comes that requires a reboot (think Update Tuesday), it nearly always hangs on boot. I find that the same thing happens when I reboot for any reason. Process:
    • Takes a long time to shut down,
    • UEFI Bios loads, gives me a chance to change the boot priority and such, then boots the Windows bootloader,
    • Takes a long time to get to the light blue screen, then
    • Goes to black screen.
At this point, one of two things happens: the desktop background comes, on, gradually populated by the widgets that make the lock screen, OR, the black screen remains forever, with the monitor turned off. Recovery is to power down the motherboard and power back up. Sometimes it takes a few tries, but that usually does it. Sometimes, powering off and on doesn't bring it back. Then, I boot to a recent Windows 10 Rescue Media thumb drive and ask it to repair the boot sequence. It declares failure, but it will boot to the lock screen if I select "Exit to Windows." I decided to try running bootrec to fix things. I used the simple way to get to Windows RE, Start -> Settings -> Update and Security -> Recovery, then, under Advanced Startup, select Restart Now. I got a strange message, something like "Making changes, computer will turn off when complete" and that's what it did. I powered off and on and booted to rescue media and asked to repair boot sequence, the selected exit to Windows. Later this morning, I booted to Windows RE through the Start menu and tried to run bootrec. I got:
    • bootrec by itself brings up the brief help file, showing that bootrec is there.
    • bootrec /fixmbr gives the error "file not found"
    • bootrec /fixboot gives the error "file not found"
    • bootrec /rebuildbcd gives the error "Windows systems found: 0"
I exited to Windows and it booted OK, as it does from Windows RE on thumb drive. I have not yet had time to boot to rescue media and try bootrec again. I'm making a new rescue media, and it's taking all day and into the evening. Any suggestions on how to fix my boot? I'm going to try booting to rescue media on thumb drive and try running bootrec that way. Any suggestions on how I can fix my \\Rescue partition?

Black screen after HP loading screen longer than usual, few days after repair install

HP Startup Black Screen - Strange behaviour!

This morning my laptop stopped working. When loading what appears is just a black screen. Nothing more.
The last thing I did on my pc was watching a film and I didn't download or install anything.
I tried to make sure that the screen isn't broken by plugging it to a monitor, but it still showed no response.
Afterwards I tried to enter the BIOS. By pressing ESC during loading it gives me a startup menu with multiple choices:

    • System information
    • System Diagnostics
    • Boot Device Options
    • BIOS Setup
    • System Recovery
First of all, since something is appearing, this means that the screen is working (and i guess also the graphics card should be working properly).
So I think it is because something happened with the OS (could be an update, not sure, I had Windows 10).
Coming back to the menu, this is what happens:

    • System information: just gives me some info on the pc
    • System Diagnostics: lets me check the memory (should work but takes 20min and not sure if I would understand the output) and hard disk (which doesn't work, because it says that the software for checking isn't installed)
    • Boot Device Options: enables me to select different Boot options
    • BIOS Setup: tried changing some options but didn't help
    • System Recovery: when launched the screen becomes black again, and after 5min a screen with HP logo (and under the text "System Repair") appears, but goes away after 30s and the screen stays black again (end result: nothing seems to have happened).
I also tried to install Windows 10 again, by booting an USB I have, and when running the HP logo appears with a circle that is loading and after some seconds of loading everything remains black again.
Overall I think it is something that can be repaired (I think somehow by installing a new OS) since we can still access the BIOS and other options (that doesn't really work), but I'm not sure how, I tried almost everything.
    Does someone has some ideas?
