Windows 10: BIOS stops with "Hard Disk Failure Imminent"

Discus and support BIOS stops with "Hard Disk Failure Imminent" in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; This subject already on this Community Site but all threads appear to be closed without satisfactory answers.     BIOS stops with "Hard Disk Failure Imminent"


    This subject already on this Community Site but all threads appear to be closed without satisfactory answers. I have therefore opened a new question with a similar heading. My problem like others is that the BIOS hangs immediately before it transfer control to the Windows 10 Boot Sector. I can work around this hang-up using the F1 key followed by the F8 key and then manually choosing the Boot location and from there on everything is normal allowing me to backup all data files.The machine is an ASUS 64bit motherboard with an American Megatrends BIOS and with one SSD and one HDD.     Hard disk failure is imminent.

    When starting my computer I sometimes get a message that Hard Disk Failure Imminent. Please back up your hard disk and have it replaced. Press F10 for Setup. F2 to continue. The first time I got this screen it clicked on F2 and Windows opened and all
    seemed fine. Now I have the same black screen with same message but when clicking on F2, the computer does nothing. I have not back up my hard disk. What can I do to save this situation or am I just out of luck?

    Greg, you have lost me with all this info. First I cannot seem to get to anything on my computer. Tried to shut down and reopen and it goes right back to the black screen with the Hard disk failure is imminent message. I am not even certain that my wireless
    keyboard is even working now. What a mess. If I cannot get to any diagnostics on my computer, how do I begin to try and address the problem?

    Windows 10 upgrade problem...Hard Disk Failure Imminent!

    As suggested I have waited 7 days and rerun Chkdsk on my problem Samsung laptop again (22Oct2016). It again took 5 hours to run and spent much of that time stuck at 11% complete. No more bad clusters found (I think), but the computer is still issuing
    imminent hard disk failure warnings and running slowly.

    I also tried the Samsung utility, but the 2008 website sent me to Seagate which did not accept the serial numbers from the back of my computer. I tried to find alternatives unsuccessfully?

    Not sure what to do now; can I repair this hard disk? If so how?
