Windows 10: Battery : 90% (plugged in, not charging)

I am using Dell 3576 Inspiron series (i7 8th Gen).. I bought this laptop only couple of weeks ago. The current issue is battery is not charging beyond 90%. When hovered on the battery icon, it displays "90% (plugged in, not charging)" . I really couldn't understand why this issue has arisen. It's a new laptop and such early issues are very irksome.


Can someone provide a solution to this issue?

Battery Not Charging

That sounds normal. After charging many batteries will not recharge again until they fall under a certain percentage (90 or 95%). This is to make them last longer. Even if you are running on mains power your battery will drain a little each day and will eventually go under the threshold and charge up again.

If you want to be sure it is working as it should, disconnect the power cable, run it on battery until it is 50% or so and then plug it in again.

 

New battery not charging


I have an Acer Aspire V3-771 laptop (which is three and a half years old) with its original battery. As the battery is not holding the charge for as long as it used to I decided to replace it. I inserted he new battery, which already showed a charge of 60%, and let it run down to the point when the laptop turned itself off. However, when I tried to recharge the battery, the battery icon showed "6% available, plugged in, not charging". I contacted the supplier of the battery and they sent me a new one. This showed an initial charge of 93% so, in view of my problem with the previous battery, I decided to try and charge it up to full capacity before letting it run down. But as soon as I tried this the battery icon showed "93% available, plugged in, not charging". So I unplugged the charger and again let the battery run down until the computer turned itself off. I plugged the charger in again but then got "6% available, plugged in, not charging". I have no problem charging the old battery, so can anyone please suggest what the problem might be? I have tried taking out the battery and unplugging the charger and holding down the power button for 30 seconds, but this hasn't worked. Grateful for any advice.

How to fix my laptop problem, i"ve been to try fix problem my laptop but not success, i using windows 10 pro. if i charge my laptop in display showing 90% Available, plugged in, not charging. then i've been uninstal the both driver battery, turn off my
laptop, update driver, and all but not success fix my laptop problem. i think my battery has broken but likely not. then if i remove the charger, my laptop is die. the led indicator not showing if laptop plugged in charging, now what should i do? please help
