Windows 10: backup w10 apps

Hi,I have a W10 laptop which I want to upgrade to W11. I can't run mpt2gpt.exe because of some historic boot partition issue so I have to set up the BIOS to UEFI, clean the hard drive then do a new install of W10 before upgrading to W11 .I want to back up my W10 apps and files onto a second drive installed in my laptop. I don't want to have to reinstall all of my apps, settings, preferences, passwords etc. Microsoft wants me to use one drive for my 240GB backup....If I make a clone of the drive then when I attempt to restore it I'm sure it'll want to use the old MBR partition setup.I found ref

• Did you add your fsnet.co.uk (POP3) address as an additional account in W10 Mail App?

I suggest you to remove the account and re-add it.

W10 Mobile Lumia 830 Backup Not Being Saved to OneDrive

I understand I can not see what is contained in the backup stored on OneDrive, but I should see them listed. In my case there is not one being stored at all even though the phone reports it has backed up. See screenshots from OneDrive from my phone logged
into the same account the phone is and the backup settings page above. Without the backup on OneDrive my restored phone will lose at least call history, start screen setup and installed app list from what I have found.

Step #2 is not displayed on the new phone. (How can it restore a backup that is not on OneDrive at all). It skips over that step and I get a default install on the new phone without my call history, start page or app history. I'm not sure what else I
might be missing but for sure at least those 3 items do not come across.

How do I resolve this issue? Suggestions?

 

W10 Backup - Options

Hi Wungraileng Vahi, thanks for replying so fast. Sorry I'm a little bit late with my reply.

I think you have to know the following points:

My PC has:

• W10 built 1511
• I have to reactivate the backup functionality regurly
• My external hard drive for backup is a Western Digital 4 TB, NTSC formatted
• When W10 ask for connecting the hard drive again, the remark is that "the hard drive is not connected" while in Windows explorer the drive is presented!
• After a restart of the PC somtimes the backup function is OK but sometimes the hard drive is not recognized.
• When, after restart W10, the hard drive is recognized the backup function will fail after about 3 days while in the meantime nothing has done with the operating software
• When I try to open the "instellingen" (adjustments? I don't know the english word)) menus by clicking the Windows logo - the backup function - more options the menu has closed by the operating system. So I can't adjust the other backup options.

So, referring to your answer, I think a system restore would not take away my problem.

This problem occurs after W10 built 1511 was installed. I hope you can help me out.
