Windows 10: Audio pop sound after Windows 11 24H2 update

Since the Windows 11 24H2 update which also updated my audio driver to a Windows version, I am experiencing a loud popping sound through my PC speakers every time a notification sound plays. The "pop" precedes the notification sound and is always the same volume loud! regardless of the current audio volume setting. There are no other sound issues. I have run the audio troubleshooter and the "pop" does not occur when I play a test sound. It also does not occur when I use USB headphones presumably because they use a different audio device.This did happen on my system with a previous update

There are no currently listed problems resetting version 24H2 of Windows 11 and no specific steps you need to perform, are you experiencing any problems with that insider build that is causing you to perform a Windows reset?

 

Windows 11 24H2 USB Audio Issues (timing out)

I have upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 (26100.712) and am having issues with getting my USB Audio systems to stay awake. Whenever there is no sound playing, my USB audio system turns itself off, thinking that there is no power to the USB port that it's connected to.

I've changed the setting in advanced power options to disable selective suspend, but this does not do anything. I've also disabled powering down the drive setting in Device Manager (for USB ports), and still no luck.

My machine is pretty much useless as a work machine now, as my USB audio (Bose Companion 5) system turns off within minutes of no audio, silencing my machine so I'm unable to hear notifications or calls.

This bug has only happened since installing 24H2, I've checked device manager and there seems to have been new drivers installed with this update, so potentially some changes there.

 

Audio crackling/popping sounds.

Recently I've noticed that my Windows 11 was having some audio issues, especially when audio started/stopped playing you would hear a pop sound, or especially when changing audio levels, either from the windows volume or any app volume slider, you can hear some crackling sounds.

I've tried so many things to fix this problem but no one worked and the issue is still here, i'll list them here;

Things I've tried so far:

- Using the iGPU instead of the GPU;

- Applying new thermal paste;

- Reinstalling GPU drivers with DDU;

- Reinstalling Chipset Drivers;

- Updating BIOS;

- Reinstalling Windows 11 on a completely new Samsung M2 SSD;

- Tried LatencyMon and there's no latency;

- Stress tested GPU on FurMark (temps were fine);

- Enabling/Disabling AMD fTPM, no difference;

- Disinstalling/Reinstalling Audio Drivers.

Even after a clean Windows 11 the audio problems were still there, I was thinking this could be a Driver conflict problem or a BIOS problem, or even a hardware problem at this point.
