Windows 10: Audio Jack is not picking up my Headsets Microphone

I’m using a Razer Gaming Headset that includes a microphone. After plugging in the audio jack, all that is is being picked up is the headphones while the microphone isn’t even an available device in the Device Manager.I would attempt to reinstall drivers and troubleshoot the system but there are no drivers to reinstall or system to troubleshoot.I just bought this Jack and the microphone is detected through the Bluetooth USB option which is broken now and the reason I bought the headphone Jack. The only audio that is detected is the computers internal speakers which also doesn't work. How do

Headset Microphone not detected when plugged into onboard audio jack

I recently did a completely fresh install of windows on my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55, and I noticed that Windows does not pick up my Logitech headset microphone when the headset is plugged directly into the on board audio jack. Looking through the device manager and in sound settings the headset just shows up as headphones only with no mic.

However if i plug the headset into a USB-C to 3.5mm audio jack suddenly Windows can see and use the microphone on the headset. So far ive run sfc /scannow, DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth, DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /restorehealth followed by another sfc /scannow. Windows did find corrupt files on the first sfc scan which was fixed but the microphone problem still persists.

 

Computer Not Using and or Not recognizing Headset Microphone

Recently I got a gaming headset but upon plugging in the headset my microphone jack, I realized my computer was not picking up audio from the headset mic. I have looked through other forums but I still cannot find a solution to this problem. I have looked at the sound settings and saw that under the recording category, It shows a second microphone device that is only accessible by plugging in my headset. But when doing so I've noticed that when talking into my headset mic the recordings menu does not show any signs of sound. But if I tap my headset the sound meter goes up. This makes me think that my computer only picks up sounds around the headset and not the mic itself.

Other Info
1) For my sounds, video and game controllers in the Device Manager I have High Definition Audio Device and Intel(R) Display Audio listed.
2) I have a windows 7 upgraded to windows 10

 

Microphone not working with combo audio jack


My laptop only has one combo audio/microphone jack, and I can't get the microphone to work at all. I just bought a new headset that came with an audio/microphone splitter specifically for the purpose of using it on this laptop. While the output works fine, the microphone input is absolutely ignored.

I am 100% positive this is an audio/microphone splitter (and not just an audio splitter) as it has 3 rings on the end of it (indicating that it is compatible with using a microphone), and one of the input jacks even has a microphone icon on it. Realtek Settings are nowhere to be found in Control Panel, and I couldn't seem to find anything in the system sound settings that would help me either.

I've already spent money on this new headset, so as you can imagine I'm pretty frustrated that this is not working, and I really, really don't want to spend any more money. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
