Windows 10: ATI Radeon X1350 driver for Compaq 6820s

Dear all,


I have an older laptop Compaq 6820s with ATI Radeon X1350 display driver. After Win10 reinstall I can not set my display to 1440 x 900 resolution witch is optimal.


Please let me know if you know how to get an adequate driver and set this back, ms driver does not support this resolution. I tried all found drivers from AMD and ATI but without success, Sergiy's solution used to work but not any more. Win10 version is 1903, 1909 already waiting to bu upgraded.

ATI Radeon Mobility X1350 - Windows 10 support for 1440x900 widescreen resolution is missing

Has anyone successfully installed a driver in Windows 10 for the ATI Mobility Radeon™ X1350 on HP Compaq 6820s Notebook that supports 1440x900 resolution on the widescreen 17.0-inch display?

The Microsoft driver does not provide options for widescreen settings (width/height=1.6), only 1.33.

• Download driver: ATI Technologies Inc. driver update for ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM) Version Windows Vista
  Drivers (Video) 25.08.2006 7.14.10.8333 - 3421_c6c890a15113b794e88f5614daec1276499fa94b.cab
• Unzip file 3421_c6c890a15113b794e88f5614daec1276499fa94b.cab
• Enter to unzip folder
• Right click on file "atiilhag.inf"
• Select - "Install"
• Be Happy!!!

ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics Driver is not working properly.

Did you happen to try the workaround from the post I linked earlier?

The method suggested was as follows:

<in Control Panel>

open Device Manager, select Display adapters

Right click ATI Radeon (or generic graphics adapter if listed that way) and select Properties

Click "Update driver"

Click "browse"

Click "Let me pick from a list"

select (AMD or ATI) driver version 8.970.100.9001 from 2015 and install that
