Windows 10: Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller

I have an older ASUS laptop (2009) with a Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller and Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter, the technician I use for repairs says they are both capable of accepting high speed internet (Up to 1GB of speed) although I currently upgraded my office service to 400mbs but I'm lucky if I can get 50mbs on any speed test that I use. I can confirm the higher speed is available through my Android phone and Spectrum has checked all their connections several times. Is there anything I can do to get my laptop to actually be able to utilize the higher speed without buying a new laptop?

Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 driver

After the Update from Win 7 64 to Windows 10 64, the status of the network connection says Not connected.

The loaded driver is the following:

Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller

Microsoft / 03.06.2011 / 1.0.0.23

I followed this steps.

1. Go to the Control Panel and click on Troubleshooting.

2. Select Network and Internet then click on Internet connection.

3. Follow the on screen instructions.

But The problem has not been resolved.

however when i tried twice it failed. i then went to my Device Manager; Netwotk Adaptors anf updated driver software; but it told me i have latest drivers,so i dont know what is going on? Anyone can help?

Also noticed that i had trouble starting Win this morning,it seemed to freeze or hang; I then did restart with last best config and this seemed to work. However, after runni turns black and this button becomesll red until ing i get thr power on/off button
that normally is blue.the screen until i press it again and windows resumes as if nothing happened. Please can you assist

 

Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 driver

With reference to Method 3: since the Ethernet Controller effects the internet connection, and it isn't working after the Win 10 install, I can't download anything! Assuming I can find another, working, PC and find a Windows 10 driver for the Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114
Ethernet Controller, I assume I'll have to copy it onto a USB stick and plug this into my (busted!) PC. If so, the next question is re. step 2: "Right click on the setup file" - which file is this? Will this be witin the downloaded Driver?
