    Asus A540L laptop booting issues

I haven't gotten a chance to get on Asus Support for this, so I suppose I could ask here and see if anyone knows what to do.I got this Asus laptop from a friend, and they asked me to wipe the hard drive. But there was an issue with it. It would start to boot, show the Asus logo, but then shut off. Upon doing a Google search, it seemed to be a RAM issue. So I opened it up, put in a spare piece of RAM I had lying around, and with the keyboard disconnected, it booted fine but nothing would show up on the screen. So then I switched the RAM back to the original one, and it booted fine and everythin

    :)

    laptop doesnt boot automatically

    This is what happened.

    1. Did a repair install and later disabled hibertnate in CMD.
    2. Enabled legacy option ROM in BIOS.
    3. After a few times startup ( i used the system in such mode for 5 days), changed boot option back to default.
    4. Vola!! It boots automatically to win10 without any keypress. Tested it with many starts to confirm the same.
    5. Re-enabled hibernate option using CMD and later selected Fast Startup.
    6. System booted normally, without the need for any keypress.

I do not know exactly whether such steps resolved the problem or what else happened, hence cannot suggest above steps.

Many thanks to all members who helped to troubleshoot problems.

    Asus Vivobook laptop update

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:

    1. Perform a hard reset: Turn off your laptop, unplug the power adapter, and remove the battery (if it's removable). Hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power. Then reinsert the battery (if applicable), plug in the power adapter, and turn on your laptop again.
    2. Boot into Safe Mode: If you haven't already, try accessing the Advanced Startup Options by repeatedly pressing the F8 or Shift + F8 key during the boot process. This should give you the option to boot into Safe Mode. If you're able to boot into Safe Mode successfully, you can try to uninstall any recently installed updates or drivers that might be causing the issue.
    3. System Restore: If you have a restore point created before the issue started, you can try performing a System Restore. This will revert your laptop's settings and configuration to an earlier working state. To access System Restore, you might need to boot into the Advanced Startup Options as mentioned in step 2.
    4. Reset or reinstall Windows: If other options don't work, you may need to consider resetting or reinstalling Windows. Keep in mind that resetting or reinstalling Windows will remove your personal files and applications, so it's important to back up your data before proceeding. You can usually access the reset or reinstall options through the Advanced Startup Options.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to contact Asus support or take your laptop to a certified technician for further assistance. ️ Hopefully, your laptop gets back to normal soon
