  1. APPS AND FEATURES STORAGE DOES NOT ADD UP TO WHAT IT SAYS

    Hello,

I have read so many posts about this and i can not see a solid solution! i have cleared all data, files, disk cleanup, everything possible even installed latest windows version and deleted the old,in my apps and features is says im using 4-5gb and on the list of apps there is nothing of considerable storage whatsoever,i do not even have any personal files, games, appsapart from google and Windirstrat installedeven in Windirstrat there is no explanation of lost storage due to apps and features : i have cleared cache in windows store also, the main problem is i purchased a system with only 32gb for just surfing the web ect and when 4-5 gb is missing along with the latest version of windows it does not leave me with much,i have directed anything i can to sd card also.

    :)

Why does Apps and Features say it’s taking up more storage than the sum of the apps?

I’m trying to make room on my computer and noticed that Apps and Features in storage settings says it takes up 134GB. I went through all the apps to try and figure out how the heck that happened and noticed that:

    1) there are a bunch of apps that don’t list a storage size beside them (this includes things from Epson, Dropbox, Norton Security, Spotify, Steam, etc). I also uninstalled Spotify to see how much it would make a difference and nothing changed, even after
    a restart.

    2) if I add up everything manually, including my best estimates for these files without the storage size listed, I come at most to 50GB. Are there other apps in this section that aren’t shown or why would this be happening?

new features 'completed' no details given: sd storage of apps and storage clean up

    For example:

    http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/f...racking_code=da61a0d7fd4a8d3f5764ea2b0e3661b2

    http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/f...racking_code=41f021c2f1ea44753096691f01539f29

these two topics requesting sd storage for apps and some way to clean up phone storage have been closed as completed. But the copied and pasted template answer doesn't tell us how!!!

many of us have already searched for an answer and found nothing. There is no way to do what they say they have done for us!!!

so its seems Microsoft not only ignore their 'support forum' but also 'complete' tasks without doing so just to meet some stats somewhere.

if Microsoft actually read this my suggestion is a link at least to a 'how to use this new feature' when you close a suggestion.

in the very least explain what was done to complete these two

APPS AND FEATURES STORAGE DOES NOT ADD UP TO WHAT IT SAYS

Apps & features disc space doesn't add up to storage use listed

Under "Settings," and "Storage," my OS_Install (CAPPS AND FEATURES STORAGE DOES NOT ADD UP TO WHAT IT SAYS :) total size is 238 GB.

Under "This is how your storage is used and how you can free up space," it says...

    Apps & features....98.8 GB

Yet even a cursory total of all programs listed (by size) under Apps & features reveals a total of about 1.5 GB.

And, a bunch of programs are listed at the bottom (including at least one that needs a lot of storage space) without *any* numbers.

Should I presume that the Settings -> Storage utility is incapable of listing ALL programs and all of the space they require?

Why the massive difference (98.8 GB vs 1.5 GB)?
