Windows 10: Anyone else still waiting for the Windows 10 fall update?

Thanks! I appreciate all the responses here. This is one of the most helpful forums I've ever used for anything.

 

I clicked on the first link you provided, but did not get a "setup.exe" file. This is what I got: GetWindows10-sds_____________.exe.

Is that the correct file to run?

 

you need to "download tool now" from that link
then run the "Mediacreationtool.exe"
To download the ISO setup media..

then you run the setup.exe within the ISO

Hmm...still no "setup.exe" file with this approach. It gives me the option to "Upgrade this PC" or to create installation media. The first option downloads a new version of Windows and finally ends up at a license agreement. The second option leads to a "Windows.iso" file.

 

The second option is what others are suggesting to you.
Use that 2nd option and the ISO file will begin downloading to your computer.
After that, go to the location where the downloaded ISO is, right click at it > click Mount > click Setup.exe.
Installation will begin.
You will be given a choice to keep your files, settings and most of the apps, or keep nothing.
No product key is required.
Activation is automatic.

 

I'm a bit confused, even with the explanations here. My laptop upgraded to the fall issue (took a little time), but my desktop shows there is no update or upgrade to be done. The message says I am updated as of 11/12/15. What am I missing?

Read the following and you'll know why some of us will not see the update, at least for me, my last Windows 10 in-place upgrade install was on October 26, 2015 so another 13 days.

Here is the setup in plain english

• Go To: Tech Bench
• Scroll down to to where you are asked what Bit OS you want. Make sure to select this carfully.
• Select Windows 10 in the second list, nothing else.
• The ISO will download (It takes 15-3 hours depending on your connection)
• Mount the ISO and run setup.exe
• Make sure to download latest updates.
• After it is done the next screen will ask you what you want to keep, just click next (*EekMake sure to close out of everything!!!)
• Your computer will install the fall update, once complete login *Smile

 

As of yesterday, Microsoft has pulled build 10586 (the fall update). It is no longer available on today's Media Creation Tool or Tech Bench download websites and it stopped coming up in Windows Update a couple days before that.

 

Any reasons for pulling mentioned? I have the update and am having a few glitches.

 

Yes, you think they are left. Nothing is left - it deletes all of your files, documents, settings, pictures, videos, everything.

Beware!

 

You get the option to keep all your files and applications. You just need to make sure that option is selected and your files will be intact. That's what I did and it worked perfectly.
