  1. Anxiety about windows after a trojan.

I recently received notice windows blocked and removed this threat after an update:

    Trojan:Win32/Fuery.C!cl

    File: Users\Name\AppData\Local\Temp\"folder name"\"file name"

***Both folder and file were named: tmp"random numbers"***

I suffered no harm and no accounts had any attempted access. I used windows defender real time, emsisoft emergency kit, malwarebytes scanner, and virus total on the majority of files. As well as use uBlock origin and uMatrix in my browser prior to this. No p2p obtained software.

I choice to be cautious and still format my entire drive and reinstall windows. I am still using windows defender as my real time protection. I am also now using hitmanpro and emsisoft emergency kit also. I have did **multiple** full scans with all of these scanners and they have returned 0 results. I have ran hitman pro in safe mode and it returned 0 results. Emsisoft would only run in safe mode (networking) but returned 0 results. Windows defender doesnt scan in safe mode.

My concern is that windows defender offline scan is not leaving me logs stating it completed. The scan also seems to finish at 91% with 88%-91% covering a a large amount of files. Instead I receive this in event activity:

***Windows Defender Antivirus Configuration has changed. If this is an unexpected event you should review the settings as this may be the result of malware.

    Old value: Default\IsServiceRunning = 0x0

    New value: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\IsServiceRunning = 0x1***

***Windows Defender Antivirus Configuration has changed. If this is an unexpected event you should review the settings as this may be the result of malware.

    Old value: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\ServiceStartStates = 0x1

    New value: Default\ServiceStartStates = 0x0***

Searching for these gives no solution and an extremely limited amount of results where people inquire on what it means. I have found about 3-5 post on the issue and none have been given explanation as to what these mean. To me it implies the service starting upon launch when reading them and the configuration message may just be there to notify a state change and defender running (0x1). One search implied that was the case. However **if** the messages implied defender not running(0x0) I would be worried. I assume something is just weird with windows at most since defender does in fact operate normally outside of that scenario and safe mode. Also considering the drive was fully formatted and mutliple scans from different programs in and out of safe mode return no results. Windows is able to check for updates and I have verified defender is updated and is capable of checking for new updates. Am I just being paranoid about a normal message or bug most would never even check on? I tend to be insanely paranoid on these issues and just want to relax.
