Windows 10: Airpod pro mic issue

Hello,I have an issue when connection airpods pro 2 to windows 11 PC. Issue is that MIC is no longer working on PC after connecting to other device? Any solution available? This to be able to connect correctly to multiple devices.krMichael

Airpod Pro Mic not working on Windows 10 pc

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me. Due to the pandemic I am working from home and I have recently purchased a pair of Apple Airpod Pro's for MS teams calls however I can't get the mic to work. I've connected the airpods to my windows 10 pc ok and they play
sound fine however I don't have an option to select the the airpods mic. When I go to the sound
settings>sound settings>sound control panel there's no option for the Airpods as a recording device:







This is a bit strange as when I first connected the airpods to my pc they were an recording option but it didn't work.

I've tried everything like installing the latest drivers, updating the latest windows updates etc. Has anyone had the same issue and got airpod pros mic working properly on windows 10? The mic works fine on my ipad and android phone so I know the mic works

If it helps here are some of my PC details:

• PC: HP Pavillion Gaming Notebook
• Windows 10 Home version 1909
• Bluetooth 4.0 (i think)

I'm annoyed that I spent some time reading / watching reviews before deciding to purchase these Airpods and I did not come across anything about issues with the mic. I just thought being a high end, popular bluetooth wireless earphones that they would be
100% compatible

Windows may not automatically set the AirPods Pro 2 as the default audio input/microphone device when connected.

Make sure your AirPods Pro 2 are selected as the input device in your meeting software (e.g., Zoom, Teams). Sometimes, the software might default to another microphone.

1. Re-pair your AirPods: Remove your AirPods from the list of paired devices on your PC and then re-pair them. This could help reset the connection between your AirPods and your PC.
   
2. Reset your AirPods: According to Apple, you can reset your AirPods Pro by pressing and holding the setup button on the back of the charging case for about 15 seconds until you see the status light flashing amber. After resetting, you can try re-pairing them with your PC.
   
3. Disable the Hands-Free Telephony service: Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Devices and Printers. Find your AirPods, right-click on them and select "Properties". Then go to the "Services" tab and uncheck "Hands-Free Telephony". Click Apply and OK, then try reconnecting your AirPods.
   
4. Check Bluetooth services: Press Win+R, type "services.msc" and press Enter. In the Services window, find "Bluetooth Support Service", right-click it and select "Restart".
