Windows 10: After december 2024 update, desktop keeps refreshing every 5 seconds

I updated my PC and my desktop keeps refreshing every 5 seconds, I cant seem to open anything.. Went into safe mode and I ran command promt and checked for SDC, DISM, chkdsk, no problems detected in any files ... I tried to restore my windows to before the update, its giving me error 0x80070005. Please help.

Why does WWANSVC cause the desktop to refresh itself every 5-10 seconds?

After upgrading Windows 10 to the current version (1709), my desktop refreshes itself every 5-10 seconds, essentially locking me out of the system as I am unable to start any application. The one exception is Task Manager, which I can start and which remains
active through the refresh. I have found that stopping the WWANSVC will eliminate the refresh problem, but I am then not able to connect on any wireless port. All drivers associated with the network have been updated to current levels

Well that's why I asked. Mine is on SSD and takes 11 seconds. Your list of games will not appear if it has not checkd for updated suggested settings for awhile until it checks.

When it says it is refreshing the game list, it is checking, because NVIDIA periodically updates suggested settings. Plus it will look for those for new games you have installed.

So, the less it is run, the slower it will be.

 

No List of Desktop Programs After Refresh/Reset

I just reset/refreshed windows 10 and chose the option to keep my files. The dialog said that all my desktop applicaitons would have to be reinstalled but that a list of them would be on my desktop when the refresh completed. Now the refresh has completed
and the list of desktop programs is not on the desktop.
