Windows 10: Acer Veriton N2620G fails to start using Power On by RTC Alarm in the morning

I have been loading our computers to startup automatically every morning using the Power on by RTC Alarm. I have one that has decided to perform differently. If I test the startup during the day it starts up as it should every time but when I leave it overnight and set to startup at 7.30 it fails to start. I have disabled the deep power mode in the bios and I have also unticked the fast startup in the power settings (issues I found years ago).


Could anyone help with correcting this?

Fast Startup places the system into Hybrid" S4,

I would suggest you to try making a windows scheduled task to wake the system up instead.

Or follow the steps below.

• Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press the F2 key, or the DEL key if you have a desktop, to enter the BIOS.
• Use the arrow keys to navigate to Power Management Setup and press the ENTER key.
• Navigate to Deep Power Off Mode and press ENTER to set it to
  Disabled.
• Navigate to Power On by RTC Alarm and press ENTER to set it to
  Enabled. Set the interval of the alarm and the time when you want the computer to start up.
• Press the F10 key to save changes and restart the system.

Can Windows settings prevent Power On by RTC Alarm from working?

On a completely new system with an ASUS/Intel motherboard, the only BIOS setting I changed was to configure
Power On by RTC Alarm to start the computer every day at 5:30 am. Nothing happens.

Somewhere I read that the Windows "fast startup" option could affect power on, but (1) this doesn't make sense to me, since it's about what Windows does
after the computer powers on, and (2) I have another box with fast startup turned on where Power On by RTC Alarm is working fine.

What other BIOS settings does this depend on that I don't know about? Could the CMOS battery be an issue? I've configured this on every computer I've ever built without a problem until now.
