Windows 10: Account Unknown s-1-5-21. Cannot delete because it has inherited permissions from parent.

I just deleted one of my old unused accounts and when I go to properities of an app, it shows that there is a unknown user. Does that delete have anything to do with this?

Unknown account removal

In a 'permissions' dialog an attempt to remove an UNKNOWN ACCOUNT prompts that inheritance first must be disabled. Two options are offered...

1) Convert inherited permissions to explicit permissions on this object
2) Remove all inherited permissions from the object

Which should be chosen, and will other accounts be affected? Or, would it be prudent to ignore the unknown account?

This is an "Sxxx" account and does not appear in the USERS account list, nor with other normal registry accounts.

 

Inherit permission from the parent folder in Windows Server 2012R2

I understand that you want the child folder to inherit the permissions from the parent folder. You can try the following steps and check if that helps:

1. Right click on the folder to which you want to provide permission.
   
2. Click on Security tab.
   
3. Click on Advanced.
   
4. Click on Enable Inheritance and.
   
5. Click on Apply and OK.
   

If that doesn’t help, as you are using Windows Server 2012R2, I would suggest you to post your query in

are well equipped with the knowledge on Windows Server.

Account Unknown (S-1-5-21-130066488-785734366-1129733132-1000)??

Hi, recently whenever i have checked the security tab of my files, I see the above thing: Account Unknown (S-1-5-21-130066488-785734366-1129733132-1000), should i worry about this?? a hacker or something?? how can i delete this, it has "special permission". Also there is another account similar to this under INTERACTIVE, whats going on?? Hope someone can help. Thank you.
