Windows 10: Account got hacked and locked, haven’t received a response

My account got hacked back in March 2024, and I’ve been trying to contact microsoft ever since. I haven’t received any response, they locked my account and changed the email to it, I have the password to the hacked account but not the email.

GW2 account is hacked

It is always a good idea to lock things up and change passwords when something like this happens.

Also like the user above says, run scans on all computers you were logging into with your arenanet accounts.

 

Lock or Delete hacked account

Hi,

You can recover your account, even if a hacker has changed the password. If your account has been hacked, first try to reset your password. If you previously connected your account with an additional email address and/or a mobile phone number, we'll
send your new password there.

To reset your Microsoft account password online, go to Get back into your account and follow the step.
If you can't use any of the password reset options, select I don’t have any of these on the We need to verify your identity screen. Follow these steps to access the online account
recovery form:

1. In the Contact email address text box, enter a current email address where we can contact you.
2. Click Next.
3. To make sure we have the correct contact email, we will send a code to that address and ask you to enter it.

To help maintain the security of your Microsoft account, you’ll be prompted for the identification information you provided when you initially set up your account. Fill in as many of the boxes as you can.

Tips for completing the online account recovery form

• Answer as many questions as you can. Your answers don’t have to be perfect; provide as much information as possible.
• Use the information you provided when you created the account or last updated it. If you have moved since you created your account, your information may still include your old address.
• Submit the form from a computer you frequently use.
• Keep in mind that your email address may be country specific. For example, if you created your account in Sweden, your domain would be “hotmail.co.se” instead of “hotmail.com.”

After you complete the online account recovery form, you'll receive an email acknowledging that your request has been received. You'll receive a response to that request within 24 hours (generally much sooner).

Note: The password reset link will expire within 72 hours of delivery, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for it. If you don’t receive an email, check your spam or junk folder to see if any of the account recovery emails are
there.

77000 Steam accounts hacked every month

Ironically I've had the same crappy password since I made my Steam when HL2 came out and never been hacked, but I've had my Origin account jacked twice with a much more complicated password. 2 step on Origin fixed this problem, but just thought it was kind of funny. I went with 2 step on Steam to be safe too.
