  2. Accidentally changed headphone to Line in settings, how do you change it back?

Typically, when I plugged in my headphones a small popup would ask "What do you want to do with this device", or something of that nature. I had clicked the "Remember this" check box to prevent it from popping up again, however I accidentally selected
"Line" instead of "Headphones". Now my computer treats the headphone jack, and anything I plug into, as a Line which is what I don't want. I've sifted through the settings but everytime I plug in my headphones it reverts back to telling me that its reading
it as a Line in. How do I change the settings to either ask me everytime I plug my headphones in what I want to treat it as, or change the jack settings to treat my input as headphones?

Accidentally changed headphone to Line in settings, how do you change it back?

    Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if you are able to view the Headphones in the playback devices.

    • Right click on the
      Speakers
      icon in the task bar.

    • Select Playback
      devices.

    • On the window that appears you will see your
      Speaker.

    • Rightclick on the
      blank space and check Show
      Disconnected
      Devices and Show
      Disabled
      Devices.

    • If you see that the
      Headphones
      is disabled, right click on
      Headphones and click enable.

Hope this helps. Please respond if you have any further related query.

    Thank you.
