Hi, I need some dire help as this issue is happening regularly with my laptop, irrespective of the Windows 10 version. Sometimes once in a while, my PC gets totally slow, apps load very slower than usual, games load after 10x the normal time with a fraction of the normal FPS, even opening File Explorer takes a ton of time and dragging it around feels sluggish and lagging. I have noticed that when this happens, the % Processor Time viewed under Processor Information in Performance Monitor abruptly fluctuates between around 10 and 60, which is usually less than 7 in idle state in normal non pr

  2. Power Processor Performance

    Hi Cynthia,

Have you installed any updates recently? Basically, there's a possibility that the
Minimum and Maximum processor states became hidden due to possible changes or updates performed on your computer. However, if you want to have those settings again, then here's how you can get them back:

    1. In Cortana search, type in cmd. Once you can see Command Prompt from the search results, right-click it, and select
      Run as administrator.
    2. In the command prompt window, type in the command below, and press Enter.

    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR bc5038f7-23e0-4960-96da-33abaf5935ec -ATTRIB_HIDE

    3. Close the command prompt window.

Once done, check again the Power Options > Processor Power Management and see if the
Minimum processor state and Maximum processor state options are back.

If you have additional questions, or if the issue persists after the troubleshooting steps above, please let me know by replying to this thread. This way, I'll get notified and respond back to you as soon as I can.

    Regards.

  3. How to increase the processor of your computer

I have a windows 10 Acer desktop computer which is a 1.99 GHZ intel processor. How can I increase my computer's processor up to 2.0 or 2.4 GHZ? Reason why I am asking is because I got offered a work from home position as a customer service/tech support
rep. I was told that my 1.99 GHZ does not meet the minimum requirements. Can anyone tell me how to do this step by step so that I can get my processor to read at least 2.0 GHZ or 2.4 GHZ on my systems setting info?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CPU / CPU Processor problems / Processor affinity

We appreciate the information you provided. Your processor is working as expected. CPU affinity is only showing CPU (0) since 1 processor is working at the moment. It's very likely that your computer is using a balanced power plan, so we suggest changing
your power plan to High Performance by following these steps:

    • Right-click Start.
    • Click Power Options.
    • Choose High Performance.

In addition to that, we recommend installing the latest updates to keep your system current and secure. Go to
Start > Settings > Update & Security > Check for updates.

Some programs may also be automatically launching whenever you boot your computer, affecting the performance. To disable them, follow these steps:

    • Right-click your taskbar.
    • Click Task Manager.
    • Under the Startup tab, find the programs that you don't need.
    • Right-click the program and choose Disable.

You're also using your computer for a game that was designed to run on an earlier version of Windows, so it's possible that it's slowing down your computer. In this case, use the Compatibility Troubleshooter to find and fix problems with the program using
    these steps:

    • Click Start.
    • Type Troubleshooting and press Enter.
    • Click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.
    • Click Next.
    • Choose the program from the list and click Next.

Let us know if you need further assistance with your computer.
