I’m using a multi-monitor setup, with several 1080p monitors and a 4K TV connected to my PC. When I try to run my 4K TV at its full resolution 3840 x 2160, it defaults to 1080p in the drop down, even though the HDMI cable supports 4K and the TV is 4K-compatible. I’ve tried reinstalling drivers, updating my GPU, and manually setting the resolution, but the issue persists. Troubleshooting so far: • Verified that the TV is connected to the correct HDMI port on the GPU not the motherboard. • Ensured I’m using a high-speed HDMI cable 4K @ 60Hz compatible. • Updated GPU drivers and set the TV

How to show Photos from PC Laptop onto 4k TV

I want to show JPG photos from my HP PC laptop onto a 4K LG TV, and of course I want it to be shown at the 4k resolution. When I connected the HDMI cable from the laptop to the TV and used the photo slideshow that comes with the PC computer, I believe all
I was able to do was screen share and so because the PC laptop has a resolution of just 1366 by 733 or whatever, it was completely pixelated on the 4k TV.

It seems like I should be able to show photos on the TV at full resolution, just not sure how to do it.

No mine doesn't have a Display Port. It only has HDMI.

My laptop does support 4K output because when I'm at class I always use 4K on their TV.

 

HDR and WCG will not turn on for 4k 60hz, only 30hz.

Issue like this might be due to an outdated videocard driver. I'd like to get more information regarding this so we could further check and provide a more established workaround. Please answer the following:

1. What is the current build and version of your Windows 10?
2. Is this the first time that you are trying to connect your PC to your TV?
3. What type of cable did you use to connect your computer to your TV?

In the meantime, try the following suggestions to isolate the issue:

• Download and install all the suggested Windows cumulative and security update.
• Install the latest video card driver. Download it directly from the manufacturer's website.
• Use a different HDMI cable. Check if your video cable supports 4k 60hz resolution. Some HDMI cable only supports 30hz at 4k.
• Try connecting your PC to you TV alone. This will help us eliminate hardware conflict issues.
