so, ill set the parameters I have a desktop computer it has a i5-9400F 32 GB ram in a ROG Z390-f gaming and two GPUs a NVidia GTX 1660 TI and a Radeon RX 580, I have two monitors connected to the RX 580 and one connected to the GTX 1660 TI the one connected to the 1660 is my main monitor. wean I launch a game on the main monitor it uses the RX 580 and not the 1660 TII tried to set to performance in windows settings but only the GTX 1660 shows up the games still use the RX 580 and run like sh*tin the NVidia control panel, I can't find "preferred GPU" setting probably because the other GPU is

  3. So my game not run on gpu it onlying run cpu plz help me

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

If your games are not using your GPU and instead are running on your CPU, it could be due to various reasons. Here are some steps you can take to ensure that the games utilize your GPU:

    1. Check Game Settings: Some games have an option in their settings menu to select which graphics processor to use. Check if American Truck Simulator and Farming Simulator 22 have this option.
    2. Change Graphics Settings in Windows:
      • Go to Windows Settings > System > Display.
      • Scroll down and click on "Graphics settings".
      • Click on "Browse" under "Add an app to set preference".
      • Add the .exe file of the game.
      • Once added, click on the game then click on "Options".
      • Set the graphics preference of this game as "High performance" and save.
    3. Update Your Graphics Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your GPU. You can download these from the manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel).
    4. NVIDIA Control Panel/AMD Radeon Settings: If you're using an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card, you can manually set a game to use a specific graphics processor through their control panel:

      For NVIDIA:
      • Right-click anywhere on desktop, then select NVIDIA Control Panel.
      • Go to Manage 3D settings > Program Settings.
      • Select the game from dropdown list (Add it if not listed).
      • In 'Select preferred graphics processor' dropdown, select High-performance NVIDIA processor.
      For AMD:
      • Right-click anywhere on desktop, then select AMD Radeon Settings.
      • Go to Preferences > Additional Settings > Power > Switchable Graphics Application Settings.
      • Select the game from dropdown list (Add it if not listed).
      • Set it for High performance.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

    Best regards

Expose discrete GPU selection to better support Freesync hack using NVidia GPU.

My answer to NVidia's concerns : If they could support Adaptive Sync / FreeSync as well as GSync and allow the customer to choose which output to use, then there are no more concerns. Because if GSync is so much better as they claim, then those who
want to spend the extra money on a proprietary display can do so and the rest of us can use FreeSync. It should be a clear choice to anybody who has the money to buy the GSync display, if it's that much better. To me however, FreeSync is obviously the better
technology and the better choice and it's behaviour is within acceptable parameters.

"If not, I would suggest getting a G-Sync monitor and sticking with NVidia GPUs going forward." That statement is exactly my concern and many peoples concern, and it suggests to me that NVidia are acting anti-competitively, at least under Australian Law,
in that they have created a market situation that places an unnecessary financial burden upon the customer to change to their competitor. And also make it impossible to use the competing adaptive sync technology. We are now at the point were we have no choice
when it comes to GPU's. NVidia are the only supplier of performant graphics cards. And we are being forced to buy their GSync modules too.

It's true, people can't afford to change both GPU and Display regularly. Now we have a situation where our GPU and Display are locked together. That's madness, there's absolutely no point to it.

Edit: For example, I have an AMD R9 390 GPU, I have to upgrade in a month or two. I will also need a new display next year. If I get the 2080 RTX, I have to buy a GSync display. I absolutely do not want a GSync display, I want a FreeSync display. But I don't
have a choice with NVidia's current policy.
