    Hello,

    I've been trying to update to the current version of Windows from Windows 1909. I keep getting the error mentioned in the subject no matter what method I try so far I have tried

    Clean boot with no additional devices plugged in aside from my mouse and keyboard
    I've restarted several times and tried to update
    Used the media creation tool
    ran sfc
    updated bios and all drivers

    I don't know what else to try outside of a clean install and I would like to avoid that If can but if that's the only solution left then I'll do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

    Well, Christian! After all of that, the PC powered off and when I powered it on I got a 0xC1900101-0x20017(installation failed in the Safe-OS phase with an error during Boot operation

    After all of that, the PC powered off and when I powered it on I got a 0xC1900101-0x20017(installation failed in the Safe-OS phase with an error during Boot operation. So much for the update.

    Windows10 Pro Installation Error 0xC1900101 - 0x20017 : the installation failed in the safe os phase with an error during boot operation

    I had downloaded the iso file of windows 10 (64 bit) and tried to install it on my dell Inspiron N5110 laptop , setup starts without any problem but everytime on first restart (after 80% installation) it again open windows 8.1 saying error "the installation
    failed in the safe os phase with an error during boot operation" Error Code 0xC1900101 - 0x20017

    Laptop:

    Dell Inspiron N5110

    Windows 8.1 pro (64bit) (activated)

    Ram :4gb

    Processor : Intel Core i5 @ 2.40 ghz quad core

    Please provide me any solution to this....I can't wait much to update to windows 10 ....pls...
