Windows 10: 0xa00f429f 'Can't start your camera'

Hi,I'm running Windows 11 and have been doing so for quite a few months. A recent update has stopped Windows Camera from working / recognising my camera and also, my Canon EOS WEBCAM soft no longer works.My regular webcam works fine in Zoom, Skype, OBS etc however the Canon EOS software is gone.All, permissions are as they should be.Do you have any suggestions?Thanks.C.

I would suggest you try to reset or reinstall the Windows Camera app.

To do so, follow the steps below.

1. The first thing you have to do is go to the My Pictures folder under the C: drive of the File Explorer and then delete the Camera Roll folder.

2. Once you’re done, right-click on an empty area on your screen and create a new folder and name it “Camera Roll”.

3. Then from the Start menu open the Settings app and select System.

4. From there, navigate to the Apps and features section.

5. Now go to Camera and click on the Advanced Options and click the Reset button.

0xA00F429F<WindowShowFailed>0X800703E3

 

Error: 0xA00F429F<WindowShowFailed>(0x80131502) when launching Camera app on Video mode from Cordova application.

Hello everyone, I am currently experiencing a problem when launching the Windows Camera application from a Cordova application that uses the plugin
cordova-plugin-media-capture to launch the camera for taking a photo or recording a video.

It launches the default Windows Camera app in either of the two non-switchable state.

Photo mode





Video mode





The Camera app shows the error 0xA00F429F<WindowShowFailed>(0x80131502) when the following step was done

1. Launch Camera app in Picture mode.

2. Launch Camera app in Video mode.

Possible issue is the Camera app cannot start in Video mode when the previous state is in Picture mode.

I have the error code: 0xA00F429F<WindowShowFailed>(0x80131502)
