  1. 0x00000124 BSOD

    Brand new Windows 11 installation. Brand new hard drive. Have run chkdsk, dism and sfc scans but it's still happening. I'm only partially computer literate so I can't seem to debug this any further and any help would be greatly appreciated. Event Viewer always shows several dozen errors/warning/critical at exactly the moment it blue screens so it's very difficult to narrow down what is happening.Some errors: Metadata staging failed, result=0x80070490 Several "LSA package is not signed as expected." Bugcheck 0x00000124**sometimes it creates a dum

  3. BSOD 0x00000124 PSHED.dll

    Hi phmuni,

    Thank you for posting your concern here in Microsoft Community. We understand you need help getting out BSOD 0x00000124 PSHED.dll error code. Let's go over with this together.

    We would like to know some additional information to make sure we are on the same page about this.

    • Did you recently install any hardware?
    • Any specific error message? ex. CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED || SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLE
    BCCode: 0x00000124

    1. This is usually heat related, defective hardware, memory or even processor though it is "possible" that it is driver related (rare). Remove ALL power and reseat all cards, memory and cables (on both ends) - actually remove and replace - do not just snug. Make sure the system has adequate ventilation - add a small fan blowing into intakes. Carefully inspect the motherboard and other cards for damage. Pay attention to the fatal hardware error implication. You may need a real computer shop or the System maker's Support.

    2. Check the processor seating, heat sink, and the compound between the processor and the heat sink which are common causes.

    3. There have been a few instances where Norton/Symantec and other antivirus/security programs have caused this error. You are running Avast so I would totally uninstall it and use Windows Defender which in Windows 8/8.1 & 10 is a full antivirus. Despite all the hype out there WD has proven to be both excellent in detection as well as compatibility.

    4. Be sure to check with the System/Motherboard Maker's Support and Forums about any known issues.

    0x00000124

    The WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR bug check has a value of 0x00000124. This bug check indicates that a fatal hardware error has occurred. This bug check uses the error data that is provided by the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA).

    Run A SFC Scan

    Running an SFC scan helps you to fix the pshed.dll error blue screen. Follow the steps given below and make sure you do not leave any steps in between.

    • Press the Windows plus S keys first and then type cmd in the search tool’s text box. Then you need to right-click the command prompt and select run as administrator.
