Windows 10: Pop ups won't work on either google chrome application and microsoft edge please help

Recently got a new laptop, lenovo yogi 7i with all the new updates-new windows and everything so everything is updated basically. However, one day I needed to fill out and accept a form for school and for some reason, whenever I pressed on the tab, it wouldn't pop up a new window for it or just a pop up in general. And yes, pop ups are enable and allowed on both edge and google. Even turned it off and on a couple of times and nothing. Is it a windows problem if it's BOTH chrome AND Microsoft edge issue? How do I fix this? The computer already had a reset done earlier as well so I don't know wh

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

  Open Microsoft Edge.
  
• 
  Click on (…) at the top right corner.
  
• 
  Click on settings.
  
• 
  Click on View Advanced Settings.
  
• 
  There you will be able to manage Pop ups.
  
• 
  If you don’t want then you will be able to turn on/off.

Google Chrome not working windows 10

• Are you facing any issues with Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer?
• Is the issue confined to Google Chrome?
• Have you tried uninstalling/re-installing Google Chrome?

There could be several reasons for this cause. I would suggest you to try the steps below and check the result.

Uninstall Google Chrome and then re-install

Press Windows key + X and click Programs & Features

Right click Google Chrome and click Uninstall

Re-install Google Chrome and check.

If the issue still persists, please contact the developer of Google Chrome.

User account control pop-up when running Google Chrome

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



This issue could be because Google Chrome is set to Run as administrator that is why you get the User Account Control pop-up every time you open Google Chrome. We can change the settings to Run Google Chrome as normal and check if that helps.



Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Right click on Google Chrome shortcut on Desktop and select
   Properties.
   
2. Click on Compatibility tab.
   
3. Clear the check box for Run as
   administrator.
   
4. Click on Apply and OK.
   
5. Open Google Chrome and check.
