    How can I repair my file explorer?


    I have a problem with the file explorer on my system. Whenever I launch the file explorer, I can only select two options from the left menu, Home and Gallery. The rest of the options, such as Downloads or any of my local hard drives, do not work when selected. On selection, they will become highlighted, but the explorer will not display any of the contents of that section. This applies to the path bar in the file explorer as well. File Explorer does nothing if I specify a path not in Home or Gallery. I have already tried just about every solution I could find online for similar problems. I was

    To assist you with your concern, we suggest you pin the File Explorer from the Start Menu by following these steps:

    • Click the Start Menu.
    • Right-click File Explorer.
    • Choose Pin to taskbar.

    • Since when have you been experiencing this issue?
    • Were there any changes on your PC before this happened like software or updates installed?

    For initial troubleshooting, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Access this link

      C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
    • Delete all the files.
    • After deleting the files kindly try and see if there's a thumbnail preview of your files.
