After a system update a little while ago, my installed camera in my Zbook laptop no longer works/shows up as an option and has completely disappeared from the drive. It has completely disappeared even from the device manager where there is no option for image stuff. This has happened to 2 other laptops I have in my team but not in 5 others? How or where do I reinstall the camera driver from?

Camera on Laptop Not Working

I tried all 3 of your suggestions and it did not fix the issue, in fact it might have made it worse. I tried updating the device drivers for the camera and also the web cam (web cam shows in Sound, video and game controllers) but in both cases the driver
update said latest driver installed. After I finished the 3 suggestions I rebooted and now I get a screen that says it can't find camera and when I look at device manager it is no longer listed there. I then went into the Windows Store to install the camera
app (which still shows in my list of apps) and the store said it was installed.

Any more suggestions would be appreciated, maybe you can tell me how to uninstall the camera app so I can then reinstall it (FYI, web cam will also not work but I guess it doesn't work because the camera is not working).

After I wrote the above, I shut down my PC and restarted it (rather than just doing a reboot that I had done before) and the camera shows in the device manager so my prblem is back to exactly the way I first described it.

Windows Camera app no longer works


On my ASUS G74SX-3DE Notebook, Windows Camera no longer works after the app update(s) recently.

It would start up with:




I have no idea who makes the camera for the device and ASUS doesn't provide Windows 10 drivers except the camera works fine with other apps.

Windows installs a driver with the device listed as:
USB2.0 UVC 1M WebCam
in device manager with driver version 10.0.10240.16384 and the date

USB\VID_13D3&PID_5134&MI_00
USB\VID_13D3&PID_5134&REV_0725&MI_00

is the device ID's
