Hello. I recently have noticed some problems on my 2nd monitor. I am running the new 9070xt and intel 14600k and all is fine. my 2nd monitor seems to always be on the correct brightness but my other monitor is the problem. There is nothing in the settings to help the sittuation. I have no setting on in the system power settings and i do not have any eyesaver mode setting on either. When i open up my pc i have certain apps running on startup such as opera and discord but it seems to not be a factor in this. Anyway when im using my 2nd monitor and my 1st monitor is just running the background an

To change your Windows 10 monitor brightness, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Click the Windows logo; then, search for Control Panel.
• Select Hardware and Sound.
• Choose Power Options.
• On the next screen you should see brightness slider at the bottom of the Control Panel window.

Primary Monitor Dims When Connecting Second Monitor

I'm currently using an LG 34UC79G-B monitor as my primary display and a Samsung CF390 as my secondary display, running Windows 11.

When the LG is utilized as the sole monitor (display settings set to "Only Show on 1"), the monitor works fine, brightness is great. However, when I switch to "Extend Desktop" to utilize a second monitor, the main monitor dims fairly significantly.

Additional information:

• GPU drivers and Windows are fully updated
  
• Auto-brightness/adaptive brightness is disabled
  
• HDR is disabled
  
• No settings are or have been changed, both in Windows and on the monitor's OSD
  
• The monitor works great at all times, except when I'm using two monitors
  

UPDATE: I switched my primary display to HDMI instead of DP and the issue stops. However, it's a 144Hz monitor, so running HDMI instead of DP cuts my framerate.

What in the world could be causing this?

Some of the advantages of having multiple screens (dual monitor) are it increases your productivity or it allows you to do multitasking. When awaking your PC after putting it to sleep, it will be directed at the sign in page. Normally,
the second monitor will just reflect black screen and the main monitor will reflect the sign in page. After signing in, your second monitor will automatically open if it is turned on.



If the second monitor doesn’t turn on, we recommend that you run the
Power troubleshooter by following these steps:

• Click the Start button, then type Control Panel and then press Enter.
• Change the View by option on the top-right to Large icons.
• Click on Troubleshooting, and click on the View all option on the left pane.
• Run the Power troubleshooter.
