Windows 10: why am I not receiving the email

when attempting to download the Xbox app on my pc i get the message "Because you're accessing sensitive info, we'll send a code to *** Email address is removed for privacy *** to verify your identity.". once I click next, it claims to send an email to me to verify, but i never receive the email. i have been trying to resolve this for days but it seems as though Microsoft customer support does not exist.I have checked spam, and it is not there.

No emails received

Windows home version 22H2.64bit.Firefox 109.0.1. My email address has not received a single email in 3 days,it is a hotmail.com address in Outlook, my other email address is working ok and I usually get the same emails in both.I did send a test email from the other to hotmail.com and it worked.Any suggestions?
