    The sound from this windows 11 pc is simply garbage . It sounds like AM radio because every sound enhancement is turned off . i have asus prime z690 a motherboard with realtek audio . For many years these motherboards come with the hardware AND SOFTWARE that allow all sorts of sound effects when your source is flat . Equalization , spatial effects , etc , etc .Yet once windows 11 gets involved I cant even adjust bass or treble . VOLUME , LEFT , RIGHT LEVELS ....thats it My question is ....this has been asked many times for many different reasons ....how do I stop microsoft from preventing me f

    Sound Quality

    One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

    May not be a speaker problem.

    Wait, but have you done the whole step-by-step guide described in the OP? DDL/DTS isn't supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 either, unless if you do the steps listed there.

    No sound from Sub in 5.1 setup using Realtek

    Installing this driver didn't make any difference, the sub is still not working.
    Can you suggest anything else?
