  1. Can I keep a PC off the Internet but on a home network?

I use a PC running Windows 10 64-bit and a Mac mini running Sequoia on my home network. I have the computers set up such that they share a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The PC is old, but I want to keep so that I can run some quirky legacy software. I would like to keep the PC networked to my Mac mini so that I can, for example, automatically back-up a file from the PC to the Mac, but I would like to keep the PC disconnected from the Internet to shield it from malware and from Microsoft's automatic updates. Is there a way I can have the PC off the Internet but on my home network or directly c

    :)

    network and internet

this hard drive is not connected to my computer, it is connected to my wireless router.

after scanning for hardware changes as you suggested in step one, there is no usb hard drive
listed on my computer, either in the device manager, or in the network list in file manager which includes both computers connected to the router. this computer is recognizing the router, internet, and other computers connected to the router.
it is not recognizing the hard drive connected tot he wireless router.

I checked my wireless router to see if the usb hard drive is discoverable and verified that it is.
