Windows 10: Unexpected Account in Users folder

Hello ThereUpdated my UEFI bios on 3/26/2025 on my Windows 11 Desktop, Didn't remember my Microsoft Account Password at the time, hit i forgot it, and reset it, and got back into Windows fine after that.Anyways i thought the WsiAccount was suppose to disappear once Internet reconnected and i signed in with my credentials, but it has not disappeared yet at all. Should i break down when i get time and do a clean Windows 11 Pro Clean Install, and reinstall all the games, and such?Please advise what is best to do on this situation

Unexpected User Folder

To understand the issue better, I would need more information from your end.

• Does the folder appeared recently?
• Did you make any recent changes on the computer prior to this issue?

I suggest you to check in User Accounts settings that if there is any User Account with similar name.

• 
  Click on Start.
  
• 
  Click on Settings.
  
• 
  Type ‘Add, delete and manage other user accounts’ in search box.

Local Acct user and MS account user - sync them or merge them

If the local account is the one where you have most of your personal data, this is how I would do it:

• Sign in to your Microsoft account
  
• Copy all documents, pictures and other personal data from Microsoft account's user folders to corresponding folders in user Public (contents of MS account Documents folder to Public Documents folder and so on)
• Sign out from Microsoft account

Notice that above steps are only required if Microsoft account user folders contain data you want to keep. If its user folders are empty or do not contain anything worth saving, you can skip the above steps. Continue from below.

• Sign in to the local account
  
• Delete the Microsoft account (Option One in this tutorial)
• Switch your local account to a Microsoft account (tutorial)
• Copy the data backed up from old Microsoft account to Public folders to new Microsoft account in corresponding folders

That's it. Using the Public folders as temporary storage you will have none whatsoever file owner / permission issues later on.

 

How do I put a folder of my own into the Guest user account and make it the only folder available to view beyond those by default?

I suggest you to follow the steps below in order to put a folder of your own to the guest account:

• Select and copy the folder that you want to move to the Guest Account.
• Follow the steps below and paste the folder so that you'll be able to view it in the Guest Account:

• Press ‘Windows’ key on the keyboard.
• In the search box, type ‘This PC, and press enter.
  
• Now follow the path: Local Disk(C>>Users>>Guest Account.
• And paste the folder which you wanted to move, in the Guest Account.
