Windows 10: Why does FILE EXPLORER keep saying 'Working on it', but end up CRASHING?

Every single time I attempt to open the Downloads folder, the same issue occurs without fail. Either File Explorer completely freezes up, becomes unresponsive, or in some cases, it crashes and closes on its own. It doesn't load any of the contents of the folder—just a blank or stuck window—and I’m left having to force close it through Task Manager. I already tried one of the common fixes, which is to restart File Explorer from the Task Manager, but that unfortunately hasn’t made any difference. The problem keeps repeating itself in exactly the same way every time, and it's making it impossible

Effective Way to Solve the File Explorer Crashes Issue

You can try the following steps:

1. Tap down the Windows button first to activate the search bar.
2. After that, in the search bar type control, and then click on the top-most search result, that is on Control Panel.
3. Next, in the search bar type file.
4. Now, from the search results click on File Explorer Options.
5. Then, click on the Clean button.
6. Lastly, click on Apply and then on OK.

thats wierd... iv never had a large file crash explorer before....


and i have files ranging upto 80GB...
