Windows 10: Audio glitching elsewhere while in discord call

Any time i am in a call on discord my audio quality goes to **** on every other app, it sounds glitched and muffled.

Why does my output audio on my laptop get so bad when I use Discord?

   1. Right-clicking the sound icon in the system tray and selecting 'Sounds'.
      
   2. Go to the 'Playback' tab, right-click your default device (usually your headphones or speakers), and select 'Properties'.
      
   3. In the 'Advanced' tab, uncheck 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' and click 'OK'.
