Windows 10: I need help w finding my speaker toggle switch that disappeared on taskbar. the speaker...

does anyone know how to get my toggle switch back for my speaker icon that i have on my task bar. I still have the speaker icon on task bar. But after we had storm last night, an had pc start back up... the toggle just disappeared . So i cant turn it up or down...now i did go into settings an see where i can turn volume up or down, But that just leaves volume where u put it. I need to be able to turn it up or down from my task bar. can anyone help w this? Barb

i notice that the speaker icon on my taskbar disappears. my display setting is set to 1360 x 768 (recommended), speaker setting is turn on. if i set the display setting other than recommended the speaker icon reappears. how can i have the speaker icon stay on the taskbar in recommended settings permanently plz?

Just to clarify, the issue started after disabling the speaker, is that correct?

If so, I suggest you to try the steps below to re-enable the speaker and check again.

1. Right click on the sound icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".

2. In the playback devices window, right click on an empty space and select "show disabled devices".

3. This will show the hidden/disabled speaker.

4. Right click on it and re-enable it.
