Windows 10: Can I upload unsigned UWP.appxbundle and unsigned WinUI. msixbundle apps to Microsoft Store?

I have created a UWP app and a WinUI app using Xamarin Forms and .Net MAUI respectively.For both of them I used the sideloading option and skipped the package signing to create the . appxbundle and . msixbundle files.Questions:1. Can I upload these files to Microsoft Store for 2 different apps and Microsoft will sign them with their own certificate?2. For the UWP app, I did not do Associate with Microsoft Store. Can I manually copy the Identity name, Publisher name from the partner center app registration to the package.appxmanifest file and create the unsigned package to upload; will that wor

why are some apps unsigned?

WHY ARE SOME REALLY POPULAR APPS SUCH AS FREE -ISMS UNSIGNED AS IF THIS WAS SIGNED THE DEVELOPER WOULD MAKE A LOT OF MONEY AS A LOT OF PEOPLE WANT IPHONE STYLE THREADED SMS. THERE ISNT ANYTHING THAT IS SIGNED FROM THE OVI STORE THAT IS EVEN CLOSE. I WOULD
LIKE FREE ISMS BUT DONT WANT TO INSTALL ANYTHING UNSIGNED AS IT IS A HASSLE.

 

Installation of Unsigned apps on N8

The simple answer is that you cannot install unsigned SIS files to the N8. They have to be signed (usually) by the author of the app. It used to be the case that the end user was able to acquire their own signing certificate, but it seems the door has been
closed to that avenue now and for good reason too. Most people only used the self signing of unsigned apps in order to install pirated software. That's a shame, because it means the end user can't use that service for legitimate means.

SIGNED/UNSIGNED APPLICATIONS

Here is a possible solution for Symbian/Nokia problems with the signed Bullsheet.

I would like that the phone would have an option that IF it sees that a program is UNSIGNED, it will still allow it to be installed AFTER the following steps are done:

1: First display a warning that the following software is UNSIGNED and say that any UNSIGNED software being installed nullifies your Phone's Warranty.

2: Give an option to accept the nullification of your warranty and to install the unsigned software.

3: IF the phone owner accepts to nullify the warranty, it will connect to the Internet and transmit to Nokia the phone's IMEI number and Serial Number and have the customer accept the nullification via the Web Page.

4: ONCE The customer accepts the nullification of the warranty, nokia's website will transmit a small SIS back to the phone which will allow all future UNSIGNED software to install without the above procedures.

5: Once the above SIS is installed, then go ahead and install the UNSIGNED software.

Doing this will allow the customers get what they want, and protect Nokia from any non-standard warranty repairs that normally would brick the phones. This way, Nokia can charge for the repairs of a phone that has been bricked by unsigned software.

Will they consider it? I don't know. But this would be the most ideal scenario that could be implemented to help ensure that Nokia does not lose money recklessly and to give the customers what they want.
