Windows 10: How do I change my downloads showing up this way in file explorer and how do I change it?

My files are showing , a long time ago, earlier this year, last month, earlier this month and then recent or todays files are showing all the way on the bottom. I would like recent files to be at the top and older files to be on the bottom in descending order. I am not sure why its showing them all out of order this way. Thank you.

Downloads File changes when a download is added

Request: Microsoft Windows File Explorer Downloads. When we download to our Downloads File The file changes from a single Alphabetical list TO 4 Non-alphabetical sub-files. Let that change be MY choice, not yours, Microsoft, for me!!. Yes, we can change
how File Explorer appears by using View/Layout. That does NOT prevent the Download File from changing when a download is about to be added. I prefer to look for the file that I want to add a new download to from 1 file that is listed in alphabetical order.

 

Seeking ways to change this File Explorer behavior

When browsing folders to check/edit their contents using the Details view option, I notice that File Explorer has the following behavior:

- I open a folder then go back

- File Explorer puts that last visited folder in its bottom

When browsing folders that way, one goes most of times from top to bottom, so I think File Explorer should position the last visited folder on the top of the list. Putting it on the bottom is somewhat annoying.

Is there a way to change that? TIA.

Nice thing about it is, it replicates in jump lists as well!
