Windows 10: Display color issue

Issue Summary: I recently purchased an HP 15.6-inch laptop, but I’m experiencing a significant problem with the color display. The colors appear washed out and inaccurate, making the screen difficult to use for any task requiring true color representation. I have attempted multiple calibration methods, but the issue persists. This problem is frustrating enough that I am considering returning the device due to the poor display quality.Any help is appreciated.

Windows Color Management Issue

With the issue you're having with your display color, I suggest that you calibrate. There may have been settings that is causing the issue and resetting them may solve this. Follow these steps:

1. Press Windows key on your keyboard, type Calibrate display color.
2. Follow the on screen instructions.

If the issue will not somehow improve, try to check with your monitor's color settings just to be sure.

Also, I'd like to clarify what monitor is having the issue with its display going to the 'other monitor'? I'd also like to ask for help in isolating the issue. Try to use the monitors one-by-one or have them pair up with one another. Like have BenQ paired
with Asus then have Alienware paired with Asus etc.

Update me if there were improvements.

 

Color bit depth is at 6-bit on Display properties of Windows 10 pro

Try the below suggested steps and check if the suggested options are available to change the Color bit Depth value

1. Right click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
2. Expand the Display, and then highlight the Change resolution.
3. On the right side, check if there is 8 bpc listed under
   Output color depth.
4. You may select 8 bpc and restart the device to witness the changes.

how to fiix my display colors

Hi Farbod,

We have different options to personalize your PC depending on your choice. To set your PC's display color back to default, you can follow the steps below:

• Type calibrate display color in the Search fieldlocated at the taskbar.
• Enter your admin username and password in the User Account Control.
• Click Yes then access the settings to calibrate your PC's display colors.

If that does not work for you, you can also try to go to Color Settings. You can choose
Default blue as the Windows color.
