Laptop frequently crashes to BSoD, VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE and says hardware error in reliability...

Lately my laptop has been experiencing frequent crashes to BSoD for the past week. On the blue screen it says VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE and says it's a hardware error in the reliability monitor. When I put the dumps into a reader it says something about the file nvlddmkm. Keep in mind that I have my graphics card up to date, my windows is up to date, and this keeps happening. This also seems to happen when I have my laptop unplugged and doing something like drawing while watching a stream on Discord. Nothing is happening that should make the temperature rise and even so, I have a cooling fan on. Here'

  2. video_tdr_failure BSOD error Windows 10

So twice today I've had my laptop crash to BSOD with "video_tdr_failure igdkmd64.sys" listed as the error code. The system would lock up briefly, then the screen would go black with just the mouse cursor in the middle but not responsive, before dropping
to the BSOD after a minute or so.

Does anyone have any ideas what the issue is?

    Hardware info:

    Manufactuer: Acer

    Model: Aspire E5-571

    OS Build: 10240

    Processor: Intel Core i3-4005U

    RAM: 4GB

    GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4400

Driver: 10.18.15.4248 (Auto-installed through Windows Update on October 15th)

    Thanks in advance

    Frequent BSoD's With Varying Errors

I have just recently finished building my computer and have had numerous problems with BSoD's. I have been getting errors about Memory_Corruption, Critical_Structure_Corruption, and IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal on Windows 10. Many websites have led me to believe that my RAM is at fault, but after testing with Memtest86 I found that was not the case. I attempted to use Windows "Verifier.exe," but my computer kept crashing every time I used it resulting in a Driver_Verifier_Detected_Error. It may be a faulty driver because I am using an old hard drive from a laptop, but I have had no luck in identifying any drivers that would cause a problem. I found the crash dump and sent it through WinDbg and found the problem was said to be caused by "Memory Corruption (One Bit)."
If there are any further steps I should take to fix this, any help is appreciated.

    First Memory Management BSoD:

    First Driver Verifier BSoD:

Edit: After running the crash dump from the Memory_Corruption error, WinDbg states for the default bucket ID "WIN8_DRIVER_FAULT" and the process name is InstallManager. Does this mean anything for the error? If it means anything, the hard drive that I am currently using is from an old laptop with much different hardware.

Random unwitnessed BSODs and Hardware Errors in reliability monitor

Hi there, thanks very much for your prompt response. Strange about the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver being outdated as I updated all of the drivers from Gigabyte's website very recently. However, I have once again updated the driver and malware bytes.

I have just looked in the reliability monitor again, and very recently I had another 'Hardware error' (I will attach a screenshot of the info). What I find worrying is that lots of the BSODs have different error codes. Also, I also often have an error message saying that the graphics driver has stopped responding and has been recovered.

What do you suggest I do next?

    Many thanks for your help.*Wink
