  1. I want to decouple my desktop and laptop computers

When I set up my laptop I used my account and asked for it to fully mimic my desktop system, which it did. Now I want to de-couple the two system except for the OneDrive folder settings so the mimicry of settings, icons, apps etc. ceases, only the OneDrive folder share remains. Copilot gives instructions to go to settings that don't exist. On both systems I am using Windows 11 Pro Preview which I keep up-to-date at all times. May I have some guidance please.

    :)

  3. How do you decouple the external monitor "desktop" from your laptop's "desktop"

**NOTE: My laptop is set to EXTEND my display from my laptop to my external monitor. I am NOT Duplicating displays

I'm working on a new Dell Windows 10 laptop after working for many years on a Mac. I am trying to do something very simple - put some applications on my external monitor to work on while I use multiple desktops on my laptop's screen. For some reason that
I cannot understand, Windows thinks it's a good idea to link the desktop on my external monitor to the desktop on my laptop. Maybe in some strange world that would make sense, but not in this world. I should either be able to change the desktop of the external
monitor independently of changing the desktop of my laptop, or it should not change at all.

When you are working on complex proposals, and you need to reference multiple applications, spreading out over multiple desktops is a reasonable way to keep yourself organized... except when you keep losing the applications you are trying to work between.

Is there a way to decouple these desktops?

I want to decouple my desktop and laptop computers

Buying a new laptop or desktop for gaming [help]

I want to buy either a new laptop or a new desktop for gaming. I want to run games smoothly and maybe even use it for some ps2 emulation. Could someone suggest either a laptop or desktop? I heard Alienware is expensive and over-rated. I was also told Sager laptops are good for gaming. I have about $1000-$1500 to spend on a new machine. Initially I was going to get a laptop but it seems like I would be able to get a more powerful desktop for the same price or less. Please advise. Please suggest a model/brand [desktop/laptop] that I could purchase because I don't think I know enough about computers to build one from scratch.
